Namitha is an Indian model turned film actress known for her works in South Indian Film Industry and few bollywood. She was crowned Miss Surat during the year of 1998. She went on to participate in the 2001 Miss India pageant and ended up as the fourth runner-up, while Celina Jaitley was crowned Miss India during this event. This publicity opened up doors for her and she did a number of TV commercials like Himani cream & hand soap, Arun Ice Creams, Manikchand Gutka, and Nile herbal shampoo. Namitha has been an advocate of safe driving and in June 2012, she and Tamil actor Bharat promoted awareness of safe driving. ==Film career== She made her acting debut in the Telugu film ''Gemini'' but ''Sontham'' directed by Sreenu Vaitla got released first. Technically ''Gemini'' is her first movie. Subsequent to that, she starred in the Tamil film ''Aai''. In 2006 she made her Bollywood debut in the Hindi film Love Ke Chakkar Mein. Standing 6' tall, she is one of the tallest actresses in Bollywood.
